BRANKO BARNIĆ

Branko Barnić je počeo da svira gitaru sa 11 godina i diplomirao na Akademiji umetnosti u Novom Sadu. Tokom svog boravka na Akademiji, a i kasnije, nastupao je kao solista, sa kamernim ansamblima i učestvovao na mnogim domaćim i međunarodnim festivalima gde je pohađao majstorske i radionice sa poznatim svetskim gitaristima kao što su: Aniello Desiderio, Dušan Bogdanović, Pavel Steidl, Oddair Assad , Roland Diens, itd.
Važno polje njegovih aktivnosti je pedagogija. Radio je osam godina u Osnovnoj i Visokoj muzičkoj školi u Srbiji kao nastavnik gitare. Predavao je deci od 7 do 19 godina, a studenti iz svoje klase osvojili su mnoge nagrade na domaćim i međunarodnim gitarskim takmičenjima. Pored klasične gitare, Branko takođe svira električnu i akustičnu gitaru i već nekoliko godina nastupa u nekoliko rock’n’roll / blues bendova.
Nastavio je svoje obrazovanje na gitari na Jacobs School of Music – Univerzitetu Indiana, pod vođstvom maestra Ernesta Bitetti. Radio je kao asistent instruktora za gitaru. Učio je i početnike i napredne studente gitare. 2016. godine je magistrirao na Univerzitetu u Minesoti, gdje je imao i poziciju asistenta na gitarskom odseku i predavao je sve nivoe individualnih i grupnih časova. Osim toga, bio je nastavnik gitare u NE Centru za muziku i na St Joseph School of Music.
Od 2012. godine nastupa u gitarskom duetu „Mediteranski breeze“ sa Milenom Petković, studentom DMA na istom univerzitetu. Duo je nastupao u mnogim akademskim i drugim prilikama u oblasti Indiana i Tvin Cities.

 

Branko Barnić began to play guitar at the age of 11 and he graduated at Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia with major in classical guitar.
During his time at Academy and later, he performed as a soloist, with chamber ensembles and took part in many national and international festivals where he attended masterclasses and workshops with world’s famous guitarists such as: Aniello Desiderio, Dusan Bogdanovic, Pavel Steidl, Oddair Assad, Roland Dyens, etc.
Important field of his activities is pedagogy. He worked eight years in Elementary and High Music School in Serbia as a guitar teacher. He taught children from 7 to 19 years old and students from his class won many prices on national and international guitar competitions.
Besides classical guitar Branko also plays electric and acoustic guitar and has performed in a couple of rock’n’roll / blues bands for several years.
He continued his education with Performer Diploma in Guitar Performance at Jacobs School of Music – Indiana University, under guidance of maestro Ernesto Bitetti. He was awarded with a position of Associate Instructor for Guitar. He taught both, beginner and advanced guitar classes. In 2016 he graduated with Master’s degree in guitar performance at University of Minnesota, where he also had a position of a Teaching Assistant at guitar department and taught all levels, individual and group lessons. In addition, he is guitar teacher at NE Center for music and in St. Joseph’s School of Music.
Since 2012 he performs in guitar duo “Mediterranean Breeze” with Milena Petkovic, who is a DMA student at the same University. The duo performed on many academic and casual occasions in Indiana and Twin Cities area.
