ALBERTO MESIRCA

Alberto je dobitnik nagrade GRAMOPHONE 2020. godine za „Najbolji konceptualni album godine“, za album posvećen Chaconne, koji je izveden sa britanskim violinistom Hugom Ticciatijem i Ensemble O/Modernt.
Italijanski gitarista Alberto Mesirka rođen je 1984. Diplomirao je i magistrirao na Konzervatorijumu Kastelfranko Veneto, u klasi eminentnog učitelja Đanfranka Volpata, pre nego što je otišao na studije kod Volfganga Lendla na Muzičku akademiju u Kaselu, Nemačka.
Alberto ima bogat spisak nastupa, radeći sa muzičarima kao što su Dimitri Aškenazi, Vladimir Mendelson, Martin Rumel, Marko De Santi, Andraš Adorjan, Peter i Jonas Giger i Mirko Sato. Takođe je sarađivao sa gudačkim kvartetima Enesco, Ardeo i Acies, Kuartetto d’Archi di Venezia i Ex Novo Ensemble.
Poslednje sezone karakterišu intenzivni periodi koncerata, predavanja i majstorskih kurseva širom sveta. Ovo ga je odvelo na konvenciju Guitar Foundation of America, Festival kamerne muzike Kuhmo (gde je izveo nacionalnu premijeru kompozicije Giorgia Kurtaga, u bliskoj saradnji sa kompozitorom), Fondaciju Stradivari, Oksfordski festival kamerne muzike, Šlesku gitarsku jesen u Poljskoj, Festival Klasik u Hagu, Lessines ‘Sons intensifs’ Festival, ‘Semana Tarrega’ u Valensiji i Betovenov festival u Melburnu. Radeći sa Markom Riboom, Alberto je snimio kompletna gitarska dela haićanskog kompozitora Franca Kaseusa. Ponovno otkriće do tada nepoznatih Fantazija Frančeska da Milana iz rukopisa Kastelfranko Veneto za lautu (1565, priredio Alberto) navelo je Dušana Bogdanovića da za Alberta napiše kompoziciju na Da Milanovu temu pod nazivom „Tre Ricercari sulla Compagna“. Mesirka je 2013. godine izveo svetsku premijeru kompozicije koju je za njega napisao kubanski kompozitor, gitarista i muzički direktor Leo Brauer.
Alberto je 2023. pozvan na rezidenciju u prestižni „The Stone” u Novoj školi, sezonu koju je organizovao Džon Zorn.
Alberto trenutno predaje na Državnom muzičkom konzervatorijumu Kastelfranko Veneto, Italija.

The Italian guitarist Alberto Mesirca was born in 1984. He completed his Bachelor and Master of Arts at the Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto, in the class of the eminent teacher Gianfranco Volpato, before going on to study with Wolfgang Lendle at the Music Academy of Kassel in Germany.
Alberto has a busy performing schedule, working with musicians such as Dimitri Ashkenazy, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Martin Rummel, Marco De Santi, Andras Adorjan, Peter and Jonas Giger and Mirko Satto. He has also collaborated with the Enesco, Ardeo and Acies string quartets, Quartetto d’Archi di Venezia, and Ex Novo Ensemble.
Recent seasons have been characterized by intensive periods of concerts performances, lectures and masterclasses around the world. These have taken him to the Guitar Foundation of America Convention, Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival (where he performed the national premiere of a composition of György Kurtàg, working closely with the composer), Stradivari Foundation, Oxford Chamber Music Festival, Silesian Guitar Autumn in Poland, Festival Classique in The Hague, Lessines ‘Sons intensifs’ Festival, ‘Semana Tarrega’ in Valencia, and Beethoven Festival in Melbourne. Other highlights include the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Regio in Parma, Auditori Nacional in Valencia, Kunsthalle Wien and the Italian Institutes of Culture in Paris, Oslo, Helsinki, Stockholm, Barcelona and San Francisco.
Working with Marc Ribot, Alberto recorded the complete guitar works of the Haitian composer Frantz Casséus. The re-discovery of the previously unknown Fantasias by Francesco Da Milano from from the Castelfranco Veneto Lute Manuscript (1565, edited by Alberto) led Dusan Bogdanovic to write a composition for Alberto on a theme of Da Milano called “Tre Ricercari sulla Compagna”. In 2013 Mesirca gave the world première of a composition written for him by the Cuban composer, guitarist and music director, Leo Brouwer.
Alberto was invited in 2023 for a residency at the prestigious “The Stone” at the New School, a season organized by John Zorn.
Alberto currently teaches at the Statal Conservatory of Music of Castelfranco Veneto, Italy.
