„30 right hand exercises from Carcassi’s method book” (2024) – priredio Stevan Jović

Besides his many instructional pieces, Carcassi also composed a series of broken chord exercises which form an indispensable part of the regular practice of every guitarist. These exercises were published within his method book and represent a kind of counterpart to Giuliani’s famous collection of 120 Right Hand Exercises, Op. 1, which is the seminal nineteenth-century edition of its kind. In contrast to Giuliani’s approach, Carcassi stuck to simpler but equally efficient patterns, which, due to their accessibility, are also very useful in enabling the successful development of the right hand technique.
The reason for writing these broken chord exercises was not only the fact that similar chordal breakdowns were an integral part of many compositions for the guitar during the era of classicism and romanticism, but an equally important motive of the author was the desire to provide guitar students with suitable pedagogical material for the development of their right hand fluidity and precision.
This PDF edition also presents a remake of Carcassi’s famous portrait and brings a new perspective to one of the greatest guitar virtuosos of all time.
