The world is rapidly changing, when arts and communications are getting completely new dimensions and forms of expression. On the internet anyone can observe, listen, study and explore all of those, sometimes inaccessible works of art.

Guitarists Association of Vojvodina is proud to present World Guitar Competition™, online competition open for all classical guitarists and composers across the globe.

This unique event, which is a combination of art and modern technology, with its premiere in 2010, at the 4th Vojvodina Guitar Fest in Novi Sad, Serbia, has shifted the boundaries of the traditional competitions for classical guitar. WGC comprise of two stages. In the first stage, competitors are recording the video of their performances which are examined by the jury of renowned guitarists who then select 10 finalists to compete in the Great Finale, at the Vojvodina Guitar Fest in Novi Sad, Serbia, for a respectable prizes of 5000$ for the winner and 2000$ or 1000$ for second place or third place. Apart of the cash prizes, the winner of the composers competition is rewarded by publishing his composition, by renowned publishing firms „Chanterelle-Verlag“ and later „Musikverlag Zimmermann“ from Germany.

This project, first of its kind in the world of classical guitar, hosted guitarists and composers from nearly 100 countries. At the Grand Finale in Novi Sad, Serbia, top young guitarists from Australia, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Indonesia, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Hungary and Serbia have competed for the big prizes and prestige.
